Resilient Acoustic Stud meets Part E acoustic requirements at Westpoint, Manchester

West Point, Manchester is a 346-unit office to residential conversion in Manchester city centre.

Currently on site, Beech Design & Build has used our new metal stud - Resilient Acoustic Stud (RAS) - to meet Approved Document E: performance standards for separating walls. The partition was tested by Peak Acoustics and comfortably achieved 43 DnTw + Ctr on site.

Beech Design & Build chose to use RAS for two reasons. Firstly, it provides a 17mm thinner footprint than the traditional Resilient Bar system and in comparison with that system, RAS was 50% quicker to install. It is a standard stud and track install.

Watch here for an overview of RAS.
