We wholeheartedly endorse RIBA’s Better Spaces for Learning report in 2016. With over 30 years’ experience of helping to write specifications for schools, we have observed the importance of good school design and concur that:

● Good school buildings have a significant and positive impact on pupil behaviour, engagement, wellbeing and attainment.

● Good school design has a positive impact on school staff’s productivity, with the most comfortable and well-designed schools demonstrating a 15% increase in productivity.

Drylining systems can help solve creative challenges whilst meeting or exceeding building performance targets. Against a backdrop of limited funding available for school building, post occupancy evaluations show that the right system choices can significantly reduce running and maintenance costs too.

Fire Protection and Shaftwall Partitions Suspended Ceilings
GTEC Shaftwall range use a specially designed system to protect voids and shafts in education buildings. It resists pressure changes and enables installation from one side of the shaft only.
The GTEC range of metal stud profiles provides system solutions for education building projects. Combining the right plasterboard, fixings, frame and finishing products gives partition solutions up to the most demanding levels of fire, acoustic and thermal performance. GTEC Floor and Ceiling systems are used to achieve acoustic and fire rated solutions for education projects. There are a large range of solutions available, from direct soffit application to the creation of full supporting frames and can be built in large runs.
