Bow School is a £30m campus in Tower Hamlets - an area with one of the fastest growing school populations in the country. Located close to the Blackwall Tunnel, the site suffered from air and noise pollution. It was also subject to a 20% budget cut at a late stage in the design phase. The new school campus accommodates 1,600 pupils in a state of the art building which includes rooftop sports pitches, a fitness studio, theatre, dining pavilion, open classrooms and areas of open circulation. Grays Drylining appointed Siniat as it's key supply partner.
The unique design of the school required bespoke detailing in many parts of the building. In addition, enhanced performance targets were set for acoustic and duty ratings, and it was designed to be BREEAM 'Excellent.'
Acoustic performance achieved from a Siniat Twin Frame Partition.
Severe duty rating achieved, reducing future maintenance and repairs.
"Siniat's technical team were instrumental in the buildability of the project by helping us rationalise the design and value engineer some of the original specifications. They also provided us with robust details on the partitions, including special deflection heads to help us achieve our acoustic requirements."
"The students have been blown away by the new building particularly the sports provision. They love it and they can see that they've been given something really special here. There is a high level of respect for the new building."
